This is the Purvida Original Conditioning Spray! It's very rare for me to groom without at least one grooming spray on hand. Adding a spray into the routine can help lift excess dust and bring out a softer and shinier coat, especially good on days with training sessions with a coach.
However, the issue with many grooming sprays is that they have silicone products in them. This ingredient makes the horse feel silky and shiny but it dries the coat out and damages the hair in the long run. Unfortunately, this means I have to avoid a lot of products by certain brands such as: Carr Day & Martin, Cowboy Magic, Mane 'n Tail, Showsheen, Mane-ly Long Hair, Effol, Shapley's, Vetrolin Shine, etc. Silicone dries out the hair with repeated use and makes the hair brittle and more prone to breakage. This is why it is typically used for sprays that are only to be used for shows and not daily application.
However, the Purvida spray doesn't have silicone in the spray, making it a better choice in the long run. The sprayer on the bottle is very consistent and doesn't break. I use it fairly often in my grooming routine. I typically curry, use a flick brush, spray, and then go over with a finishing brush. This particular spray is great because it has witch hazel and coconut oil which are really beneficial. It also has cedarwood oil which prevents insects from being attracted to the spray.
Overall, it's really great for getting dust off during daily grooming. It shortens my grooming time, especially on days where Kenna has had a good roll. However, I do not use it as a detangler because it makes the tail slightly tacky and more difficult to detangle. That can also be used as a positive because the spray does not leave a slippery residue which means it can be applied to the saddle area.
